Yangon

Yangon, the Capital of Myanmar, with over five million inhabitants, is a main gateway to travel by Air or by Sea for the tourists.

Mingun

About 10 kilometers upriver from Mandalay on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady River is Mingun, home to a huge unfinished pagoda and a 90 – ton bell, the world’s largest uncracked ringing bell.

Mount Popa

This almost perpendicular extinct volcano, 1500 meters high and 60 kilometers from Bagan is generally known as the abode of the legendary nats (spirit gods). At its summit are many pagodas and shrines which can be reached by a series of stairways. The annual nat festival is held in May-June.

Inlay Lake

Nestled amidst hazy blue mountains about 35 kilometers south of Taunggyi at an altitude of 900 meters is the Inlay Lake. This scenic lake is home to the Inthas who live in houses on stilts, grow vegetables in floating gardens and sell them in floating markets. These fishermen are unique in that they row their boats with their legs.

Bago

An ancient capital situated 80 kilometers north of Yangon on the road to Mandalay.

Mon Ywa

Located about 150 kilometres northwest of Mandalay on the Chindwin River is Monywa, a trading centre. Excursions can be made from here to the ancient carved cave temples of Po Win Taung and the spectacular Thanbooddhay Phaya.

Taunggyi

Taunggyi is the capital of the Shan State. It is 1430 meters above sea level and is known for its pleasant weather, scenic beauty, lovely flowers and pine trees.

Kyaik Hti Yo

Located 160 kilometres from Yangon is the incredible Golden Rock Pagoda, built on a boulder poised on the edge of a cliff. It is reached by a six-hour climb or by going part of the way in mini trucks and the rest on foot.

Mrauk – U

This ancient capital of Rakhine is a rich archaeological site testifying to the unique architecture and sculpture of the once highly cultured kingdom.

Mandalay

The last capital of Myanmar Kings and the cultural centre of the country.

Bagan

King Anawrahta founded the first Myanmar Empire in Bagan. This was followed by two centuries of pagoda building which earned Bagan the name of “City of Four Million Pagodas” and creating a rich cultural heritage. Bagan is one of the richest archaeological sites in the world.

Kalaw

Kalaw is a popular hill station in the Shan State. Its cool climate, colourful markets, charming churches and beautiful natural surroundings are its main attractions.

Ngapali

Just a few kilometers south of Thandwe and 30 minutes by plane from Yangon is the Ngapali Beach. This unspoiled sandy, palm – fringed beach and the blue sea provide an ideal place for lovers of the sea, sand and the sun.
